This is the king, one of the best straps that I make, period. The vegetable tanned cowhide leather is of top quality Tuscany tannery. I’ve searched a lot for this specific leather, very hard to find it. It has been aged beautifully by me and then lightly dyed in an English bridle (light brown) finish. The leather is super supple, you’ll be amazed.
Now about the buckle holes. I tried to think what I would do 100 years ago if I had no special tools. I love to improvise so I decided to use just my sewing awl and a small tool that I made myself. It really worked and I’m confident that this is what a leatherworker from the previous century would do.
Also some notes regarding the folding method that I used for securing the buckle. I’m happy with the result, it feels solid. The fixed keeper is free to move and it’s not glued with the rest leather.
The strap thickness is about 4+ mm.
This watch strap is fully handmade with traditional tools, hand-dyed and hand-stitched with linen thread. If you need another thread colour just let me know.
There are various sizing options which you can choose from the options menu. Make sure to check the Sizing Guide tab for a perfect fit. If you’re still unsure, just ask me.
There are also various buckle options. I would recommend sewn-in buckles only for Panerai’s. The handmade buckles are also made by me and they are in reduced price when you buy them together with a strap.
As with any other handmade product that I have, this watch strap is versioned, because my intention is to keep improving it. A changelog from version to version will be added here. The version format is x.y, where x stands for new feature and y stands for bug fix.
Current version of this strap: 1.0
